Buying a vanity you have only seen in photographs means accepting a small risk that it is not the piece you pictured. The return policy is what makes that risk acceptable, and it is worth reading before you order rather than after. This is what returning a NOVA-ELEMENTS vanity actually involves, including what it costs and the cases where the answer is no.
Can I return a bathroom vanity after it arrives?
Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. The vanity has to be unused and in its original packaging, and you need your order number or proof of purchase. Email us to start the return; items sent back without requesting a return first cannot be accepted.
The 30 days is measured from the day the vanity is delivered, not the day you ordered it, which matters when order to curb already took 7 to 15 business days. Start the process by emailing nova.elements.contact@gmail.com with your order number and a sentence about why the piece is going back. You do not need to justify a change of mind. Once the return is approved we send return instructions and a shipping label for the crate; the cost of that label is deducted from your refund, as explained below. Everything is set out in full on our refund policy page.
What condition does the vanity have to be in?
Unused, undamaged, and in the original packaging, with the LED mirror and all included components present. All 10 vanities ship as a set: cabinet, countertop, integrated basin and matching LED mirror. In practice this means a vanity that was unpacked, looked at and repacked. It does not mean a vanity that was mounted to a wall, plumbed in, or had its countertop drilled.
This is the reason we ask you to inspect on arrival and then wait before installing. Freight crates are designed to be opened and closed again, so keep the crate, the foam, the corner protectors and any hardware bags flat somewhere dry until you are certain the piece is staying. A vanity repacked into its own crate travels back safely. One wrapped in blankets usually does not, and damage that happens in return transit is assessed against the condition the vanity was in when it left you.
Who pays for return shipping?
On a change of mind, you do. Returns are not free: the return freight and the original freight cost of delivering the vanity are paid by the customer and deducted from the refund. If we sent the wrong item or it arrived defective, NOVA-ELEMENTS covers the return shipping instead.
We would rather state that plainly than bury it. Freight on a crated item weighing several hundred pounds is a real cost in both directions, and "free shipping" on the way to you does not mean the same on the way back. This is also why we ask that the original packaging is kept: the crate is what makes the return safe. If you no longer have the packaging, contact us before doing anything else and we will tell you what is possible.
Is there a restocking fee?
Possibly. A restocking fee of up to 25% may apply to an approved return. It does not apply when the return is caused by our error, such as a wrong or defective item.
This is worth checking on any large furniture purchase, because a restocking charge on a $2,000 order is not a small number. Put together, a change-of-mind return costs you the freight in both directions plus a possible restocking fee, which is exactly why we encourage measuring carefully, calling us with your wall dimensions, or seeing the piece in the showroom before you order. A missed delivery appointment can also lead to return shipping fees being deducted from a refund, so agree a delivery window you can keep.
Can I exchange my vanity for a different model?
Not directly. We do not run exchanges. If you want a different model, the fastest route is to return the vanity you have and place a separate order for the one you want, rather than waiting for a swap to be arranged between two shipments moving in opposite directions.
Placing the new order immediately is usually the better sequence, because it starts the 7 to 15 business day clock on the replacement straight away instead of after the return has been received and inspected. The two transactions are independent: your refund on the returned piece is processed on its own timeline. If cash flow makes that awkward, tell us when you start the return and we will do what we can to keep the two moving together. Browse the full vanity range before you decide.
How long does a refund take to reach me?
Once we receive and inspect the returned vanity, approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. We notify you when the return arrives and again when the refund is approved, so you are not left guessing where in the process it sits.
Two things extend that in practice. The first is return transit, since the crate has to travel back before inspection can start. The second is your bank, which takes its own time to post a credit after we release it. Neither is within our control, but both are predictable. If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your return and nothing has appeared, contact us at nova.elements.contact@gmail.com with your order number and we will trace it from our end rather than asking you to wait any longer.
What if the vanity is already installed?
An installed vanity cannot be returned. Once a unit has been mounted to the wall, connected to plumbing, or otherwise modified, it is no longer in the condition the policy requires, and this is stated plainly in our terms. The same applies to a vanity that has been altered or had its countertop cut, and to clearance, discontinued and special-order items, which are final sale.
This is the single most common reason a return request fails, and it is almost always avoidable. If there is any doubt, hold the installation. Stand the vanity where it will hang, check the width against your wall, the drain position against a cabinet 16 to 20 inches deep, and the counter height you want between 32 and 36 inches. A vanity that spends two days in a garage while you decide is still fully returnable. One that spent two hours on a wall is not.
What if the vanity arrived damaged rather than wrong?
That is a freight claim, not a return, and it moves faster. Every shipment carries complimentary shipping insurance. Report the damage within 48 hours, which is two business days, with photographs of the product, the packaging and the shipping label, and we prioritize a replacement rather than a refund.
The distinction matters because the two processes have different clocks and different outcomes. A change of mind gives you 30 days and ends in a refund, less return costs. Transit damage gives you 48 hours and ends in a replacement unit or replacement parts, dispatched as soon as the documentation is approved rather than after the insurer has finished investigating. If you are unsure which of the two situations you are in, send the photographs and let us decide. The full claim procedure is on the shipping protection page.
