The question behind this one is usually financial. If a vanity needs a plumber, a carpenter and a morning of labor, the real price of a $995 to $2,740 piece is several hundred dollars higher than the number on the page. Here is what installing a NOVA-ELEMENTS vanity involves, what you can do yourself, and where a professional earns the fee.
Do I need a plumber to install a bathroom vanity?
For most installations, yes, and we recommend professional installation. The work involves connecting a basin to existing supply and waste lines and, on 9 of our 10 models, securing a wall-hung cabinet into structural studs at a finished counter height of 32 to 36 inches. Neither is beyond a competent trade, but both have consequences if done badly in a wet room.
The task is smaller than people expect, because there is nothing to build. What remains is the part that genuinely benefits from experience: getting the cabinet level and at the right height, fixing into studs rather than into drywall, and making watertight connections behind a cabinet that will be difficult to reach afterwards. If you already have a contractor on a bathroom renovation, this is an hour of their time rather than a separate trade visit. If you are replacing a vanity in isolation, a plumber is the single call to make.
What does "fully assembled" actually mean here?
It means the cabinet arrives built, with the countertop fitted, the basin in place, the drawers hung on their slides and the doors aligned. You unpack it and it is a finished piece of furniture. There is no flat pack, no dowels, no instruction booklet, and no cam locks to tighten.
This is a real difference in how a day goes. A flat-pack vanity has to be assembled somewhere with space, then carried into a bathroom that is usually too small to build in, then adjusted once it is in place. Ours arrives as one object and goes straight to the wall. The DTC soft-close slides are already fitted and adjusted at the factory: 1 drawer on the 31-inch MONACO, 2 on the 35-inch TULUM, 6 on the 71-inch MALDIVES. The trade-off is weight and bulk in transit, which is why these ship as crated freight rather than as parcels.
What does hanging a floating vanity involve?
The cabinet is secured into the wall studs, not into drywall, and set so the finished countertop sits 32 to 36 inches from the floor. The installer locates the studs, marks the height, fixes the mounting hardware into solid timber, and hangs the cabinet on it before making the plumbing connections.
9 of our 10 vanities are wall-hung, so this is the normal case rather than the exception. Only the 59-inch MALIBU stands on the floor. The height range exists because comfort varies: 32 inches suits a shorter household, 36 inches suits a taller one, and once the cabinet is fixed the decision is not easily revisited. Stand at your existing basin and note where the rim falls before choosing. We do not publish step-by-step mounting instructions here because the correct method depends on your wall construction; contact us and we will provide the instructions for your specific model.
How far from the wall should my drain sit?
Measure the horizontal distance from the finished wall to the center of your waste pipe, and the height of that pipe from the floor, before you order. Those two numbers determine whether a wall-hung cabinet will clear your existing plumbing or whether the pipework needs adjusting.
This is the measurement most often skipped and the one most likely to cause a problem on installation day. A floating cabinet has a fixed internal volume, and a waste pipe that emerges high on the wall can collide with the back of a drawer box. Our cabinet depths run from 16 to 20 inches: 16 on the BALI, 18 on the MALDIVES, 19 on the HAVANA, and 20 on the remaining 7 models. The tolerance therefore varies by model. If your pipework sits awkwardly, a plumber can usually reposition it during the same visit.
Do the countertops come with a faucet hole already drilled?
Yes. Our stone and quartz countertops arrive with pre-drilled holes sized for a standard faucet, so nothing needs cutting on site. You buy the faucet separately and fit it into the existing hole. This is the one component that does not come in the box.
Choose the faucet before installation day rather than after, because the installer will want to fit it while the cabinet is accessible. A standard single-hole mixer is what the drilling accommodates, on all 10 models. If you have already bought a faucet with an unusual footprint, send us the specification and we will tell you whether it suits. Countertops arriving pre-drilled is also why we do not recommend attempting to modify one yourself: stone and quartz chip at the edge of a new hole, and the damage is not repairable. A countertop damaged that way is also outside the warranty, since it is a modification rather than a defect.
Can I order a vanity without the countertop?
For many models, yes. A base-only option, which we call No-Top, is available on several collections for buyers who already have stone or who are having a countertop cut to match other surfaces in the room. Availability varies by model, so it has to be confirmed before you order.
Contact us with the model you are considering and we will verify whether the base can be supplied on its own. This is worth asking about if a renovation already includes a stone order, because running the vanity top from the same slab as a shower shelf or a windowsill gives a more coherent result than matching two suppliers. It also changes the installation sequence, since the countertop is templated and fitted after the cabinet is hung rather than arriving attached to it. Budget for the extra visit and for the lead time your stone supplier needs.
What should I check before installation day?
Five things: the wall width available, the drain position, the supply line positions, whether the wall has studs where you need them, and the route from the front door to the bathroom. All five are quick to check and all five are expensive to discover late.
The route matters more than people expect. A 71-inch crated double vanity has to get through a doorway, round a landing and up a stair, and freight delivery stops at the curb. The crate is larger than the 71 by 20 by 18 inch cabinet inside it. Measure the narrowest point on that path before ordering. Stud position is the other common surprise: if your wall is masonry rather than timber frame, the fixing method changes and your installer needs to know in advance. The FAQ page covers mounting height and stud fixing in more detail.
What if my measurements do not work?
Tell us before you order, not after. If a width is marginal or a drain sits awkwardly, we can usually point you at a model that resolves it, whether that means a shallower cabinet, a narrower one, or the one model in our range that stands on the floor instead of hanging on the wall.
That model is the 59-inch MALIBU, which is floor-standing rather than wall-hung and therefore does not depend on stud position at all. Every other model in the floating range mounts to the wall. If the vanity has already arrived and the measurements turn out to be wrong, it can be returned within 30 days provided it has not been installed, which is the strongest argument for hanging nothing until you are certain. The full range and every dimension is listed in the vanity collection.
Every model, and what the wall has to take
| Model | Width (in) | Depth (in) | Cabinet height (in) | Price | Mounting |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ASPEN | 30 | 20 | 22 | $1,500 | Wall-hung, into studs |
| MONACO | 31 | 20 | 13 | $995 | Wall-hung, into studs |
| BALI | 31 | 16 | 12 | $1,820 | Wall-hung, into studs |
| TULUM | 35 | 20 | 22 | $1,500 | Wall-hung, shadow-gap base |
| VEGAS | 39 | 20 | 18 | $1,500 | Wall-hung, into studs |
| HAVANA | 48 | 19 | 19 | $1,640 | Wall-hung, into studs |
| SANTORINI | 59 | 20 | 18 | $2,100 | Wall-hung, into studs |
| MALIBU | 59 | 20 | 31 | $2,740 | Floor-standing |
| CAPRI | 71 | 20 | 18 | $2,640 | Wall-hung, into studs |
| MALDIVES | 71 | 18 | 22 | $2,740 | Wall-hung, into studs |
The height column is the cabinet body, not the finished counter height: a wall-hung cabinet is set so the countertop lands 32 to 36 inches from the floor. Only the 59-inch MALIBU, at 31 inches tall, stands on the floor.
Ask before you order
Check the 5 things above before you order: wall width, drain position, supply line positions, stud positions, and the route from the curb. Add a 6th if the vanity is wall-hung, the counter height you want between 32 and 36 inches. If any is uncertain, call 813-621-9396. It is cheaper than a return.
